The sale nobody signed

The problem

An NRI in New York heard from a cousin that his late father's plot in Ghaziabad had been sold — on a power of attorney he had never signed.

What we did

We pulled the registered sale deed and the power of attorney from the sub-registrar, filed a criminal complaint for forgery and cheating, and brought a civil suit for declaration and injunction to stop any further transfer. He authorised us through a power of attorney executed and apostilled in the US.

Outcome

Further transfers restrained by the court while the forged chain is tested — handled end to end without a flight to India.
