The problem

After a breakup, a client's private images appeared on an anonymous social media account, tagged with her name.

What we did

We complained to the platform's grievance officer under the IT Rules, 2021 — which require intimate images shared without consent to be taken down within 24 hours of a complaint — reported it on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal, and followed with an FIR under the IT Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Outcome

The images came down within a day, and the case moved against the person behind the account.
